AFFORDABLE ANTIBIOTICS FOR A SINUS INFECTION

Antibiotics for a sinus infection are low cost even without insurance.

We typically prescribe a 10-day course of the antibiotic amoxicillin. It costs $4 at Walmart pharmacies without insurance, or $20 at other drugstores. If you are allergic to amoxicillin or penicillin, then we typically prescribe a 10-day course of the antibiotic doxycycline.

If you have insurance, your insurance should cover the sinus antibiotics we prescribe.

We don’t prescribe Azithromycin, Zithromax or the Z-pak because the latest medical evidence shows there’s too much resistance to it and it’s not good medical practice to prescribe it.
